OK! I admit it...I watch True Blood and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

What's interesting about this post is that I have nothing to link this to and no real point to make. There is no inherent, socially redeeming quality here. However, just in case you are a fan also, I wanted to step forward. HBO Sundays...my only television habit. What about You?

  1. Michael I love True Blood too! You are a psychologist? Sorry I had not looked sooner. I am shooting for my LMFT interning now as we speak. We have a few things in common:) You live where? I find you most interesting. I love your blog. Keeps me on my toes. I live in florida in the middle of a huge city. I love the country but only if it entails music. I was born in Batavia New York many years ago. LOL My parents moved to Florida when I was six years old. My dad owned his own Stereo shop since I can remember. He was a good man who passed in 1997. My mother was a great homemaker and loved animals. She died in Novemeber of 2007. I loved them so. I have an older brother, a younger brother, and a sister. We all live in Florida. In 2006, I adopted my sister's three children as she had lost them due to a crack addiction.I never had children so it was the most scary adventure of my life and still is. Now they are 18, 12, and 9. The oldest has moved out, quit school and had a baby. Too young! My little brother is in prison for 40 years with only 5 years past. My older brother lives in my backyard in a travel trailer from the 60's and won't leave because he is lonely. Me well I am a young looking woman containing an old soul. My parents left all their mistakes with me and I carry them for both of them. I know my siblings were raised better but they lost themselves along the way. I was real wild when I was young and they thought I was the crazy one! Hence, the Marriage and Family Therapy. I love what I do but at times it can be emotionally taxing. I am sorry about the long post but I love communicating too. Please blog or tweet me anytime. Laurie

  2. What a great way for us to meet. I just finished with a morning devoted to talking with the U.S. Army about State Licensing. Seems I never had to go through all of that because I have always had this connection to people through my radio show and public speaking. Now that I am trying to help out with the troops coming back with all kinds of weird things going on, they are very particular about certifications. And so...take the time to get the paper work as it will help you big time.

  3. Yes, the Licensing! Ugh... Two years of Internship before I can sit and take the test. Sometimes I feel that who a person knows is better than what they know. Perplex with this notion. I can understand what you are saying about the particular certifications. I have just finished a group where psychodrama was the in thing. It works but very taxing on a person. I think couple therapy is great. However, I will say this with a smirk on my face; most couples just need to get a divorce instead of killing each other’s emotions. There is a fine line between love and hate I know. Then there are the couples in which hating is what glues them together :) Children are hard to work with but a joy at the same time. The hard part is to watch the suffering. I had a school observation today to rule out ADHD. It was evident the poor child did. I have to learn I cannot cure things just by CBT. The licensure test is all CBT. See a radio show? I did not know this! You could probably talk circles around me. But to let you know I always wanted to be a radio show host. No kidding. I planned on calling it Ask Laurie. That dream was squashed by what would pay the bills :) I just thought there would be a lot of travel and the motivational speaker thing is out of my league. Every single time I give a speech I start coughing. :) I truly need help with that. Oh by the way your daughter is beautiful and talented. I still have to answer your other message about us Bitches. Life’s worth it! Laurie

  4. Yep...radio...an awesome job and interestingly, the time/place I made the most money...go figure. Of course, I have tried for 6 years to get back into radio here and the best I've done is pay for play. You can be treated for fear of speaking in public...you just have to feel all of that love pour out one time and I promise, you will be cured.

  5. I am so impressed. Radio is fascinating! Money is an important issue... I really do need to be treated for public speaking concerns. I just never seem to be taken seriously when I cough the whole time :) That must be it. I never feel the love pour out :) Maybe if it was something I really was passionate about I would do well. On twitter I follow Richard Penn and he is awesome. @RichardBPenn I love his internet shows. Funny, News worthy, and just a neat person. Check him out one day. He has a link to his website on his twitter page. Loving today! Laurie
