Travel Tuesday goes to Peru....

....This trip was hard evidence of the power of attraction. The whole idea of going to Peru was to explore the popular claims of UFO's, spiritual and metaphysical events, and the rich history of the Incas. I was met in Lima by a colleague in the travel business and when asked what I wanted to accomplish during my visit, I was naively honest. Basically, I said, "I'll take one of those Shirley MacLaine adventures." Ok, 'no,' that is not what I said but it is exactly what I was thinking. I had no idea the person I was speaking with would put me in touch with a direct descendant of a lost civilization and I was about to embark on a journey that would change my life.

The trip continued from the present day capital city to Cuzco, the historical capital of the Inca Empire (1200's-1532). Cuzco hosts travelers as they journey through the Urubamba River Valley, gateway to Machu Picchu. Join me, later today, at the Personal Growth Productions web site for more on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

  1. Hi Michael,

I have seen pictures of this beautiful ancient city before and it must have been a great adventure to actually be able to see it in person. I must say I am a bit envious. Hope you have a great day.

  5. If those two pictures are where you went, it had to be hard to leave there, very inspiring locations.

  6. In a way Secretia, I do not think I have ever left...so much of that trip has become a part of my life even though it has been years since my visit. The photos are from the famous "lost city of the Incas," built around 1430 and abandoned during when the Inca Empire was toppled by the Spanish. The conical shaped mountain in the background of one of the photos, Huayna Picchu, is a short climb from the main site from which spectacular views of the city still pop into my mind's eye any time I think of the trip. The most fascinating part of the adventure, however, was the time I spend in the Sacred Valley, the Urubamba...I will be telling the story at my web site soon!
